Changes to briefs

After the crit yesterday I feel a lot more comfortable with the 2 briefs I have started. These are the postcard brief - using current news articles to make images which represent weekly stories through image - and a book brief which will have a collection of drawings screen printed in a book. The crit helped me to identify some issues with the briefs - these are:

Brief 1:
- Get rid of newspaper texture which I had been using because it was making it hard to see the image
- Put headline/story on the back of postcard
- Think about layout
- Consider using appropriate visual language for each category e.g. business - graphs, symbols.
- Specify that it is a digital print brief
- Think about limiting the colour - two colour
- If its an ongoing brief, how do I keep it challenging?
- Decide how many postcards i will do for each

Brief 2:
- Is it crafting/product led? If so then content doesn't really matter (I was worried about what the content could be)
- Decided on I love/ i hate theme
- Have odd pages that are surprising/sick/odd ones out to keep it interesting
- Could ask other people what they love/hate
- Could make something else if I have time (playing cards hee hee)
- Could have an interesting form like a reversible book - I love one way and I hate another way. Or pop up?
- Need to collect the information and start drawing.


After this I rewrote the two briefs:
